How It’s Made
The Process
01
Design
All designs are hand-drawn, then cut out of vinyl as stencils.
02
Cut
Glass is carefullly selected and cut to shape with a glass cutter and pliers.
03
Grind
The cut pieces are ground down to fit seamlessly together and assembled like a puzzle.
04
Foil
The pieces are foiled with copper foil to provide a solderable surface.
05
Solder
Each foiled seam is soldered together with a soldering iron to create one continuous piece.
06
Patina
The stained glass piece is deeply cleaned and polished. A patina is applied to the solder lines creating copper or black lines.
07
Finish
The piece is sealed with wax to protect the surface and prevent oxidation.
